Dinosaurs, Fishes, and Animals

We did a lot of FUN things in Utah! Here are just a few pictures. We went to the Dinosaur Museum, the Aquarium, and Hogle Zoo. The kids loved it all. The best part was just being with our wonderful Grandmas and Grandpas and cousins. We miss you guys. Thanks for the great trip and the fun memories!

Slippin' and a Sliding!

Who doesn't love the Slip and Slide?? Our kids sure do and its even more fun with Aunt Sto pulling you down the slip-n-slide and going together with cousins!! Uncle Matt does a pretty impressive slide as well.

Ryan's married!

Many of you know we just got back from a great trip to Utah! Blaine's brother Ryan got married in the SLC Temple and it was the best day! We all love our new sister and aunt Brooktynn so much! We are so happy for them and we were so blessed to be there for the wedding.

One funny thing happened related to the wedding events. Blaine's mom had left Brooktynn's beautiful bridal portrait out in the corner so she could take it to the reception they had planned. She also left some permanent markers next to the portrait and Ellie found these markers and colored ALL over the picture in blue marker!! Kelsey came running to Grandma saying "Ellie colored all over the married picture!!" Some attempts to remove the marker with various things did not go well--thankfully a new picture was ordered and replaced. I was not present for all of this--so my nice mother-in-law tried to hide the picture so I wouldn't feel bad for what my daughter did, but I ended up finding the picture and just about died when I saw it! We have the picture now as a souvenir from the wedding.

Ry and Brooktynn with the "colorful" bridal picture!

There was also a "bench press competition" between Blaine and his 4 brothers--ask Blaine who won. (It will boost his ego for him to tell that he won which gives him major bragging rights for quite some time. ) I, however only tied in the "arm wrestling competition" with my sis-in-law Lisa. I did beat my mother-in-law however, but she's been working out so I had to really try! (She told me to include that!) If only I had pictures of this!!

Silly kids!

Time to catch up a bit with our blog! These pictures show some of the silliness that goes around our house! Life would be pretty boring without these kids to keep us laughing. Blaine adds to the silliness as well--he just won't let me take his picture to document the funny stuff he does. (For those of you who know "the claw" you know what I'm talking about!)

Cameron made these "Super Star" glasses at school one day.

Ellie loves to climb into the dryer whenever possible!

Flip-flops and pigtails

Is there anything more cute than little girls in flip-flops and pigtails?
I don't think so! Ellie hated these flip flops when I bought them for her because she hated the thing between her toes, but she decided to today that she liked them--probably because she's been wearing Kelsey's around the house (and mine) and she wants to do anything her sister does! I love my girls so much!

Kelsey's 4th Birthday!

Our Kelsey June turned 4 today! Here are a few of the things I (Mom) love the most about our Kelsey:

1. She is 100% girl--and its a good thing pink is one of my favorite colors because its all she will wear. She loves shoes too.
2. She says things like, "Oh Mommy, I love your beautiful, sparkly, magical jewels." whenever I wear earrings or other jewelery.
3. She has a fire in her that will make her a strong, determined girl as she grows up.
4. She is her daddy's girl everyday and literally screams for joy when he gets home from work.
5. She is artistic so we have fun making things together.

We had a fun Barbie party with some of her cute friends on Saturday. We played "Pin the tiara on Barbie", made some little picture frames, and colored Barbie pictures (one of Kelsey's favorite things to do.) Kelsey really wanted the Barbie Mariposa Barbie and DVD for her birthday and her sweet Grandmas as usual made her wishes come true!! Thanks! We love you Kels--we can't believe you are four years old!!

Last time for "Breakfast with Works"

Every April and October thoroughbred horse races are held at Keeneland, Lexington's local horse track. Every Saturday during those months, families can come to the race track early in the morning and have breakfast. So for the last five years we have come every April and October to Keeneland to have breakfast and watch the thoroughbred race horses work out before their Saturday races. Grandpas and grandmas, brothers, sisters, and cousins have all been with us to Keeneland for breakfast. We have loved it and it has been a fun family tradition. We will miss it when we move.
