Flip-flops and pigtails

Is there anything more cute than little girls in flip-flops and pigtails?
I don't think so! Ellie hated these flip flops when I bought them for her because she hated the thing between her toes, but she decided to today that she liked them--probably because she's been wearing Kelsey's around the house (and mine) and she wants to do anything her sister does! I love my girls so much!

Kelsey's 4th Birthday!

Our Kelsey June turned 4 today! Here are a few of the things I (Mom) love the most about our Kelsey:

1. She is 100% girl--and its a good thing pink is one of my favorite colors because its all she will wear. She loves shoes too.
2. She says things like, "Oh Mommy, I love your beautiful, sparkly, magical jewels." whenever I wear earrings or other jewelery.
3. She has a fire in her that will make her a strong, determined girl as she grows up.
4. She is her daddy's girl everyday and literally screams for joy when he gets home from work.
5. She is artistic so we have fun making things together.

We had a fun Barbie party with some of her cute friends on Saturday. We played "Pin the tiara on Barbie", made some little picture frames, and colored Barbie pictures (one of Kelsey's favorite things to do.) Kelsey really wanted the Barbie Mariposa Barbie and DVD for her birthday and her sweet Grandmas as usual made her wishes come true!! Thanks! We love you Kels--we can't believe you are four years old!!

Last time for "Breakfast with Works"

Every April and October thoroughbred horse races are held at Keeneland, Lexington's local horse track. Every Saturday during those months, families can come to the race track early in the morning and have breakfast. So for the last five years we have come every April and October to Keeneland to have breakfast and watch the thoroughbred race horses work out before their Saturday races. Grandpas and grandmas, brothers, sisters, and cousins have all been with us to Keeneland for breakfast. We have loved it and it has been a fun family tradition. We will miss it when we move.

Firestation Field Trip

I've had the pleasure of teaching a preschool for Kelsey with 5 other mom's in my ward that have girls Kelsey's age. It's really been fun to do, and today we went on a field trip to the fire station. It was really fun! I don't think I've ever been to a fire station. The firemen were so nice and one got all dressed up in their gear to show the kids what they look like so they know not to be afraid of them if they're trapped in a fire . Kelsey walked right up to the fireman and shook his hand. It was a fun morning. Those firemen do a great service for our community.

Lets Go Fly A Kite!

There is nothing like Spring in Kentucky! (I think I said that about the Fall in Kentucky too--both are great!) It is so great to finally get outside after the cold winter! The Easter Bunny brought some kites to the kids and we had the perfect day to go fly their kites and play at the park!

Happy Easter!

Dear blog readers, Easter. You know what that means: the girls wore Easter dresses. Especially Kelsey. She wore the heck out of her dress. Ellie loved her dress too, then she pooped on it. (bad baby!) We had an Easter egg hunt at the Garners. It was supercute, with all of the supercute eggs, and baskets. Nothing has ever been cuter than the cute cute eggs, with the cute easter dresses. (We had a wonderful time at the Garners, especially when we were eating ham). Cameron was not cute AT ALL. He was totally fly in his new Easter suit.

Of course, the best part of Easter was our Sunday speaking assignment in the Monticello branch. It is about four hour round trip, for a two-hour church block. Jaimee and I (Blaine) had an opportunity to bear our testimonies about the Savior. Cameron and I sang a song ("If the Savior Stood Beside Me"), while Jaimee played the piano. Kelsey ran rampant and did whatever she wanted. It was a very good family experience.

Ballerina Girl

Here she is in her pink and white fluffy ballet costume! Does she love it? You bet! Kelsey got to wear her costume to class for pictures recently and she was so cute.
